Beverly Richardson comes to us from Riverside Elementary in Columbia where she started teaching art in 2011. Before teaching she worked several years as a commercial artist and as a program assistant teaching wildlife and environmental classes at UT Ridley 4-H Center.

As Battle Creek’s art teacher, Ms. Richardson feels like she has the best of all worlds: interacting with children, creating excitement about art and exposing students to nature. Each year she raises Monarch butterflies for students to observe and portray in their artwork. As an avid gardener and hobby farmer she brings lots of God’s creations into the classroom for students to use in identifying patterns, colors and textures to stimulate their artistic thinking.
When not teaching, she enjoys relaxing on the family farm watching the antics of the goats and chickens.  She is happiest when her grown up sons and daughter along with their spouses are all able to be back on the farm enjoying games around the kitchen table!

Mrs. April Johnson is the librarian for Battle Creek Elementary.  She loves to spend her time reading, cooking and outdoors with her husband Eric and two sons, Evan and Andre.
