First Grade Teachers

Tabitha Bilbao is a lifelong student advocate and educator.  Public service has always been at the heart of her motivation.  She is a native Floridian and most recently lived in Houston, Texas along with her husband.  She was awarded her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Reading Education from Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University, respectively.  She has taught multiple elementary grade levels and holds active teaching certificates in Florida, Texas and Tennessee. Teaching in multiple states has provided her experience and perspective on several content areas.

She strives to challenge herself and her students to succeed through continued learning and implementation of dynamic strategies to achieve mutual goals. Through her participation in collaborative professional development with fellow educators at the Teacher’s College of New York City and in her work as chair of the Literacy Committee—she has shared her experience and knowledge with her colleagues.  Her collaborative mentality is to provide her students and team with the tools and strategies to meet the individual needs of 
each and every student. Mrs. Bilbao has always been at the forefront of new initiatives at her schools. She is dedicated to the ideals of student-centered learning and the belief that as a strong team of educators, we can prepare students for the challenges of an ever-changing world.

Savannah Biddy is a native of Giles County, Tennessee where she gained three years of experience teaching first grade at Elkton School. While in Giles County, Savannah served on various collaborative teams with the goal of creating exciting, standards based learning opportunities for students. She believes in creating a positive classroom environment and making all students feel that learning is fun! Savannah is excited to be a part of the Spring Hill community and honored to be a Battle Creek Cub!

Danielle Sanabria received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida in 2010 and her Master's degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College (Columbia, SC) in 2013. She taught second grade at Joseph Brown Elementary in Maury County Public Schools for the past five years and is excited to begin her new journey at Battle Creek Elementary. She has also taught first and third grade. She has nine years of experience working in elementary education. 

Danielle loves seeing the moment when things click and her students experience the excitement of finally 'getting it'. Her passion is to help her students become the most well-rounded people they can; academically, socially, and emotionally. 

Danielle is married to her husband, Melvin, and they have two daughters, Sophia and Ophelia. They also have two dogs, Lucy and Jack Jack. They love to spend time together playing games, doing crafts, and just enjoying each other's company!

Jessica Hernandez has lived in Columbia for 6 years.  Her husband, Ricardo, is a parts advisor at Chrysler/Dodge in Franklin. They have one beautiful daughter, Anahlee. She is their world and keeps them on their toes.

She is currently in her 8th year of teaching. Mrs. Hernandez received her master’s degree in education from Grand Canyon University in 2014 and a bachelor’s degree from Martin Methodist College in 2012. She has taught kindergarten one year, then moved to first grade, where she has been for the last 7 years. She loves first grade!

She is so excited to join Battle Creek as the newest Cub!
